Between the Creases
Folded in the bathroom
is a note in the shape of a bird.
I’m convinced you’d miss me better
if I up and sailed away;
my body a paper crane.
Hanging from a string
In the bedroom.
Little wings dangling.
Cut me down.

Rock Candy
Open the door
or at least stop shaking.
You're rattling the foundation,
turning the white noise of your rages
into the vibrations which
disturb myself:
a glass of delicate solution,
yellow powder overcoming liquid
from supersaturation,
and I can't see
anything besides you,
sleeping on the bathroom floor
with a threat
resting at your
temple.

The sound and the silence
The sound of a heart breaking is not like glass shattering
it's a loud, roaring scream of despair
and then silence
for the longest time, all there is, is silence.
But slowly, slowly a beat returns.
Faint, unsteady and fragile.
Like the tentative flutterings of a baby bird's wings, as it learns to fly.
So afraid of falling.
But slowly, slowly, the beat gets louder.
Like a drummer in a marching band.
Nervous and hopeful.
The sound of a heart beating again is like a soldier being welcomed home.
Covered in scars, but happy again.
Ready to face whatever lies ahead.

Oh look, it's a poem! I've been thinking of jellyfish and universes again, and somehow I couldn't help myself.

Untitled There is something in the air
a musky scent
fleeting colours
waning
joyful laughter reverberating
It's cold outside.
Come, and watch the sun set
sky set ablaze
mythical fire
of love
Night has already fallen.
Chilling bones.
Your embrace is warm
stark contrast
into a void I fell
memories shattering
Freezing, wind picks up.
Teeth clattering.
Nevermind me.
What about the moon, I wonder?
My chance passed me by
my fault, really
I cried once only
a breeze
Can't you see the stars tonight?
Time Remember yesterday
when all of this was far away
sun still shining
birds still singing
trees still breathing
people still living
the way they were supposed to do.
But yesterday was a hundred years ago.
